Nanna bought new toys for the hot tub... little did she know they would stick to the hot tub AND the fencing! I was sure Damien was writing "Happy Birthday Mommy" but he said, "no, it says Rachel". Humm!!! Anika fell asleep on the way to the house so she is sleeping soundly while we play! Sophia wrote her name and then Nanna tried to spell words for her to sound out... she knew EVERY word I could come up with!!!
Moms Meanderings
So many exciting things going on! Grandmother-hood is a WONDERFUL hood.. Re-Discovering old friends (or them discovering me) from high school and college (what did people do before the internet?)! All 4 kids out on their own, all contributing to every grey hair I have, albeit few.. Life is good, and worth sharing. Many pictures to share! Enjoy our pages! Watch us grow!

March sleepover at Nannas
Sophie and Damien had a sleep over (Anika went home with Mama and Daddy). Damien made dinner last night (pork tenderloin medallions wrapped in bacon slices and SPEARED with toothpicks!) and he made pancakes this morning.. Sophie was happy to sit back and just EAT all the goodies. Off to the Maryland Home and Garden Show this morning!

The birthday girl turns SEVEN
We went to Benihana in Bethesda for Sophie's birthday this week. Everyone had a BALL.. including Damien who was fascinated buy the NINJA CHEF we had cooking our dinner! Hopefully he didn't go home and try to do the tricks himself!!

Jen and Donn "Citizen of the Year"
Wow! Take a look at this!
Jen and Donn were invited to the Ruritan National Association (in the Atlantic, VA area) last night for dinner. (They called Jen and asked her to bring Donn, saying they had a surprise for HIM). They were BOTH presented with the plaque naming them Citizen of the Year for 2011!! This is absolutely wonderful.. and apparently quite a surprise to both of them!!!
The Raritans are a national organization based on local community service. Guess these two kids must have really impressed them!!! A mother couldn't be more proud.. oh, that's right.. I AM their mother :-)
